What is CV4B?

icons8-terms-and-conditions-100

As per TransUnion, CV4B (short for CreditVision For Business) is a multi-dimensional approach to scoring which provides a more accurate way of identifying if a company will be able to make payments.

Using a default probability score rather than a liquidation score, you can better map the probability of defaulting (bad rates) to an actual score. Liquidation scores provide post-default bad rates which artificially lower actual bad rates.

Default probability can be used to support business strategies.

What do I get?

The performance of a company’s directors is a critical indicator of the credit risk of the company – this is particularly true within the SME space.
CV4B analyses a business, as well as its principals, and assigns a three-digit score to each, giving you a more complete view of overall risk. A score of C1 indicates the lowest risk, while a score of C7 indicates the highest risk.
There are two scorecards available – one for SMEs and one for Larger Enterprises, as risk is measured differently based on the size of a company.

What is it for?

While the going concern of the business is a good indicator of risk, its use in pricing, setting limits and terms is limited
With CV4B, the going concern of the business is an indicator and not the final outcome. CV4B takes into consideration the probability of business delinquency, liquidation likelihood, and severe court records inclination in order to arrive at a business overall risk
From SMEs to large corporations: segmentation applied to commercial score allows all businesses to be scored

What is an Investigated Business Report?

An Investigated business report is a business or commercial report that displays relevant information on a business (such as its sole proprietor, partnership, trust, or registered entity). In essence, the business report will give you an indication of the credit health of the entity in question.
